Young Syrian Urbanists YSU Network Launch

We are excited to announce the establishment of the YSU Network,a diverse community encompassing multidisciplinary urban and architectural practitioners, professionals, academics, experts, and more, all specializing in the unique context of Syria. The YSU Network aims to redefine the traditional role of younger generations in Syria, enabling them to transform, expand, and champion the means and values necessary for realizing a socially and environmentally just future across all cities in Syria.

 

After a two-year journey that commenced with the expression of interest in February 2020, Syrbanism has officially launched the YSU network. This included a series of workshops, brainstorming sessions and envisioning sessions to collectively develop the core documents of the YSU. The process culminated in the finalisation of its founding charter on 10 July 2021. The YSU Network currently has 20 members and is represented by two elected representatives, Mr Ousama Abo Samra and Ms Sarah Husein, who will serve as the network's representatives for the next two years until the next election in 2023.
